FM: You got Frank Miller. Whatcha gonna do?

MO: Hey Frank, we got your storyboards. They're amazing. This movie is gonna blow people away.

FM: Of course. (Under his breath) It'll look just like Sin City.

MO: What was that? Anyway... now Frank, are you gonna make a sort of modern neo-noir with a witty Indiana Jones-ish Denny Cole?

FM: Nope. My characters are going to be as flat as a comic book. But they'll look pretty.

MO: But... in a comic book.. readers can use their imagination to flesh out characters .. The movie is gonna suck if you skimp out on the development and rely soley on on attractive actors.

FM: Then suck it shall!

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://rockinamerica.com/blog/2010/2/16/ticket-or-skip-it-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen.html"><rss:title>Ticket or Skip It - Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen</rss:title><rss:link>http://rockinamerica.com/blog/2010/2/16/ticket-or-skip-it-transformers-2-revenge-of-the-fallen.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

The original Transformers was not a masterpiece by any imagination. Thin plot line and characters defined its features. However, compared with Revenge Of The Fallen, it's frickin Gone With The Wind.

Never, watching a movie, have I ever given less of a crap about the characters on the screen. Shia LaBeouf does a decent job, and Megan Fox holds her "this is serious acting" face for the whole two hours (that feels like about twelve, BTW.) Still, the (quote fingers) "storyline" demonstrated here is painfully stale.

$200 million dollar effects just make for confusion. During fight scenes I couldn't tell which killer robot was punching which. Perhaps more importantly, I just didn't care.

In an effort to remove the monotony from media reviews (let's face it, a lot of us just skip to the rating anyway, right?) RockinAmerica.com will be introducing Ticket or Skip It. These are short, two-to-three paragraph reviews of movies that are recently released into theaters or on DVD.

It's pretty self-explanitory. Our reviewers will spend very little of your time telling you about the plot of a film that you're probably somewhat familiar with already, and give you a quick "yes-or-no" verdict on a product.

I hope this idea will open up to other media as a way of paring down some the more lengthy reviews, while still helping anyone who might appreciate the help in choosing where to spend their money.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://rockinamerica.com/blog/2010/2/10/oooooh-iwantone-iwantone.html"><rss:title>Oooooh! iWantOne! iWantOne!</rss:title><rss:link>http://rockinamerica.com/blog/2010/2/10/oooooh-iwantone-iwantone.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

There's not much new to say about Apple's iPad. It looks like an incredible piece of hardware that is likely to change the look of computing.
Chalk up another Marvel reboot. In the footsteps of Daredevil and the Fantastic Four, Marvel's golden goose, Spider-Man is going to reboot limbo. Apparent Sam Raimi, director of the first three flicks, was feeling constricted by the 2011 deadline for Spider-Man 4, and decided to step away from the project.

This means new director, new actors, and new storylines. According to Sony's press release,

"Peter Parker is going back to high school when the next Spider-Man hits theaters in the summer of 2012."

Okay, thanks to the guys at TUAW for the word on this hilarious video that's making the viral go-round. These guys (YouTube users pantlessknights) have thrown together a funny parody of Lonely Island's SNL skit "I'm On A Boat."
